David Rowland’s 40/4 chair is the most significant chair design of the past 50 years. Over 8 million chairs have been sold since its introduction in 1964. Renowned for its unsurpassed stacking ability, 40 of these chairs stack 4 feet high. This chair has a round sled frame made from solid steel rod. The seating surface is constructed from cold rolled steel with a custom painted finish. Frames are available in 5 color choices.

Seats can be painted to match over 240 RAL Classic colors or customer provided samples. All custom orders include a painted sample seat panel shipped to our customers for approval before any chairs are manufactured.
